Hi Marco I've had the 117w a month now an find it a very versatile board.
Its the widest board I've ever owned but you don't really notice the width. The 117w has a fairly narrow tail so you don't need as large a fin as you might think. I've been using a 46 C3 sting2 with my Loft Blade 8.6 which is good for the very bottom end. I've just ordered a sting2 44 which i think will be a better allround size for that combo. Feels good through the gybes, I felt at home on it straight away. Pads have plenty of grip and the foots straps are allot nicer than my 2010 Isonics I had. cheers Pic of me sailing on my 117w and Red 8.5 Blade :-)

Thanks Vando,
... I have Sting2 fins in this sizes also, among others in this size, so expect this will be ok ... This season I had iS127 carbon but was not able to find the right trim and get the speed I wanted, as if I was not heavy enough to lift the board out of the water, some heavier friends of mine were realy was on the board ... also I went down to 80 kgs from 89 kgs ... and therefore expect 117W to be a better fit for me ... just hope that I did not order a "wrong" board again! Hey Marco, I recognize your problem. Maybe you can try but giving the fin more rake or using a smaller fin (with more rake) definitly can help you gain looseness for the iSonic slalomboard. I have good confidence this will help, definitly because heavier riders DO go fast on your equipment.
Its a deep tuttlebox, so there should be a bit room to pull the fin more raked. And don't care if a few mm of the fin head stick out at first.

Thanks Eric ... very interesting proposition ... I will try changing the rake ... as a matter of fact, I did try with smaller fins, I used Deb R16Sl 46 instead of 50 cm with 8,6 ... but it felt slippery and the back foot was "falling through" almost continuously ... on the other hand Tect. Talon 48 had to many spin-outs ...
