Default Range 117 Wide

Hi guys,
one question, what is the range of 117Wide?

I am tall 190 cm and weight 86 kg and my quiver is:

117w / 97
7.2 / 7.9 / 8.6

In light wind use 8.6 / 117w / Deb 46 but I wanted to have more power in light wind and I wanted to replace 8.6 with 9.3. But I am afraid that the weight / size on 117w cancels the advantage that could give the sail.
What do you think?
Someone used this combination?
If the Deb 46 that's OK?

Best regards

I have the 2013 117 and find the 8.6 is as big as I need. I really don't know how much you are going to gain with a bigger sail. Down wind would probably be faster but going from point to point or upwind not sure. Maybe you might need a 48cm fin for super light wind. I use a 46cm with 8.6 and 44cm with 7.8. My weight is 83kg.

Hi Viga,
your fin choices are great. I felt that the board worked awesome with my 9,2 Reflex III using fins from 45 to 47cm. I would not replace the 8,6 by a 9,3. Try to get a light 9,2 or 9,3 additionally for the lighter days or flat water (easy chop) conditions.

In total the 117 wide and in 2013 the 117 covers a wide windrange for someone in your weight class. You can try to get some kilos off. That's perfect, especially when sailing in a shorty. If it's really light you can push your gear by a big powerful fin. A 46 should be fine!

Get your straps all the way back and use adjustable harness lines.

Overall you can have perfect speed with sails from 7,8 up to 9,2(9,3) on this board. But please, don't replace the 8,6 by a heavy 9,2. If you will find a perfect 9,2 for the 117wide it can happen that you prefer this set over the 8,6 combo:-) You are tall and you can handle the 9, 2 easily.

Hope it helps,

Chris
