Hi Daniel
I never try a 8.6 on it but the 7.8 is just very nice on it. I am 90kgs This really give another dimension for speed and make a lot more accessible for this side of windsurf who was very exclusive I am enjoy a lot this board also with 6.2 and for addict to Gps this board really nice and can be used a lot more due to the wide wind range The 2011 one in Carbon really boost the performances in low winds and top end speed also Hope this help All the best All the best

Thanks fore the answer.. I was thinking 8,6 and 7,8 on the 58 and even bye the 49 fore 7,0 and 6,2. Are this board hard to trim ore are we talking massive time on each model.
My english is not perfekt so hope you understand Br Daniel |

Hi Daniel
Im the same weight as you, and use a 8m & 7m on my W58. I feel that in flat waters, the W58 (with a big fin) would do a 8.6m no problem. When I did not have a W58, I used to use an 8m on my W53 with a 31cm Tectonic F1 fin, it worked really well, so the W58 should be good with 8.6m. The W58 is very easy to trim and could "almost" be used as a small slalom as its pretty decent in rough waters for an xl speedboard. The 2010 W58 footstrap plugs pretty in-board compared to the W53/W44 which helps to stop dipping your heels in rough conditions. The only thing to be carefull with is fin selection. The W58 is the OFO tail at 36cm, there are no dedicated speed fins for this size, so you need to make sure you get slippery small slalom fins for powered up/overpowered conditions and fins that are grunty for super light days/7.8m/8.6m days.
