I`m changing my 8,6 SSR sail(wide sleeve, last version before the Code Red) to Overdrive 8,5 2007.
Using the same C100 mast, what should I expect from the change in terms of power to get on the plane, and stability and control. For example , the answer to the pumping to get on planning will be different, may be less efficient, soft feeel, etc? And the limit to be overpowered and have to change to a smaller size, may be it will be with 1 knot less or 5 knots less? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Sergio,
Diifficult to be really precise, because I haven't use the SSR since long time. But this sails wasn't powerfull and with a good speed. For sure you will win in power with the overdrive R2, so you will plane earlier. The stability of the overdrive must be really close to the SSR. In general the new overdrive R2 increase their performances a lot compare to the model from last year, so you must really happy with it. For exemple I compare the Overdrive R2 11m vs Code Red R1 11m and the overdrive win in light wind. All the best
