I just got my 2011 Starboard Quad 87!! I'm totally stoked... but had a few questions on setting it up. I was wondering when I put in the back footstrap on do I need the anti twist plugs?
They don't seem to fit well together and I cant get the strap tightened down with them in. Also the vent plug stops turning when I tightened it up is this a safety feature so as not to over tighten it? |

You don't need them although the straps will fit your foot a bit different without them. I used the anti twist on my 82, but not on my 77. But I did check to see that the screws wouldn't bottom out in the holes before the cranked them down without the anti twist. I've also cut part of the anti twist off so they fit flush against each other without overlapping. Can easily be done with a sharp knife or a hacksaw. Just snug the vent plug down on the O ring without excessive pressure assuming you have an O ring on the vent plug when you screwed it into the vent hole.

Hey Ray,
Thanks for getting back to me. I'll trim the anti twists off a bit so they fit better! Now I just need some wind! |
