I've had had 3 x9's for more than 2 full seasons. No problems. More than 50 rigs per mast. If it's going to break from a defect it's likely to happen right away. No worrys if not.

Well last year they got really huge problems about X9 mast damages, expecially in "up to 5 meter" dimensions..
They've retired them from market! Now it seams they solved the problem, at least I haven't seen anything about that thing for this year's model. |

Everyone please note the inside diameter of the mast at the bottom is narrower than normal mast . I cannot use any extension with a collar
like the Chinlook . I can only use Neilpryde or Fiberspar extension . |

I beroke aone rigging up on beach ! (Inside a speedsearcher which IMO is one of worst sails NP have ever made) (Sorry)
Rigged fine (well as fine as speedsearcher gets)but picked up rig to "check" and it just broke in my hands ! (And it wasn`t fully down hauled !) Between X9 and speedsearcher I nearly gave up on NP. Combat and Saber revitalised my faith ! Sabres as fast anyway !! (Well nearly)

Yes Saber's are quick all right and easy to handle. I and a few friends have been snapping x3 boom and X6 boom where the arm meet the head. All in the same place. It seems to happen at the end of one seasons riding. We are up to four booms now in the last two months. I'm getting a bit pissed off now. Back to chinook I think.

Do yourself a favor and check out the Maui Sails carbon booms. A bit pricey, but in my opinion they are clearly the best booms on the market. No other brand comes close.
