If you use the recommended mast then 460 or 490 should work fine but a 460 with carbon extender is a good value option if your not using the 490 with a bigger sail then the 7.8

I read before that some people found the 460 too soft on some of the larger sails.
As a heavyweight i wonder if the 490 is a better choice. The mast will only be used on the 7.8 so want to make the best choice. |

Hi Racer
As a heavy weight, the 490 will be best choice, I'v swapped my Daytonas for warps now, but I still use a 490 in the 7.6 warp instead of a 460 and its way better for my 105kg, feels really good, more draft for low-end, stiffer more stable feel and more acceleration in the gusts. I was never that keen on the "extendo" thingy and for me, the sail felt to soft and flexible, although I'm sure it must work for lighter sailors. Cheers

I've tried 460+extender in a 9.0 Daytona. Not good (you told me, Mark
Then I tried it with a 510, much better.Although your sail is much smaller, I believe the extender is a failure, if you're into any performance. |
