Default 2008 Kombats out - what about Futura???

Got my Boards e-zine and there is an ad of the new Kombats, congrats for the great new graphics, they look hot (great photos by the way). They are now described as wave/freestyle crossovers not the tri-crossover of now (wave/freestyle/freeride). I'm wondering if there will be Carves around next year as we know S-types are gone unfortunately. What would be the Futura, a wave/freeride crossover? A slalom/freeride? A slalom/freestyle (superX)?

Any one knows?

As usual, full info will be given on aug 15, but the new Kombats are (at least) as suitable for freeriding as they have always been.

That is great news Ola, but can you define "(at least)"? I have a 2006 K106 and just love the board with my 6.3 and 5.5 Superfreaks, a combo I know you would like too. Anyway I`m very curious about what the future(a) brings? But because of the new positioning wave/freestyle as per the ad I will not give my K106 away, I hope to add a 9X liters Futura to complement the K, provided they improve on the similar S-type. Looking for more speed in smaller size.

Sorry Marc, but we have to wait until aug 15 before getting any deeper into the details of the new boards except that the bigger Kombats will not get less good for freeride applications and that the small Futura will be at least as fast as the comparable S-type.

Again, not much more to say at this point in time.

Fair enough Ola. Thanks for all the good info you put on this forum (and others). I already decided I need (actually want) a smaller board to complement my K106, I want it to be a fast board with good jumping / some freestyling ability (along the lines of the small S-Types), so a Futura it will be.

If you take a look in the New-Skool supplement that came with Boards mag you will see details of the 2008 Flare and Evo too.

I hope it won't be the same mistake as with the Aeros going Kombat Aeros...
