Hi All, I come from Formula 161 used in racing context and this autumn, for a series of reasons, I'm thinking to change it with a high performances board but not so wide, using a smaller Formula sail (11m North Warp instead of 12m). So limiting factors are: width (no wider than 90 cm) and sail size (I have to go on using a 11m Formula sail). I'm taking iSonic 145 into some consideration for its width (88.5 cm) but sail range it's a source of worry: 6.8 to 10.5... might be a 11m Formula sail really too big for this board ?? Which are iSonic 145 reasonable limits in (low-wind) sail range and (large) fin sizes ?? - Exp. P.S. I see many posts in french Forum about iSonic 145 but, unfortunately, I don't speak french so... be indulgent if this question has been already discussed somewhere ! Thanks. |

Hi Remi, my weight is 89 kg and I'm 187 cm height; what I would like to use with iSonic 145 is my "old" 2006 North Warp 11 m (a big sail but very stable with its 5 cambers)... What do you think about using a full cambered sail on this 88.5 cm width board ? And which fin do you suggest with this combo ? 60-62 cm R13 ? Last question: which rake (+4, +6...) and stiffness (S, M...) for a (custom) Deboichet R13 ? Thank you. - Exp. |

Hi Expander,
This can work with the 11m², but work defintely beter with theiSonic 155 and more confortable and at this time you can use a R13 66 soft and you will have very good results. For the iSonic 145 to have the same confort, beter to use an 10m² with a R13 soft 60cm. Hope this can help All the best

Hi Expander,
If you want the ultimate fin on it, I am trying right now the R16 in 52cm on my iSonic 133 2008 who is 85cm wide and the result is really nice in therme of speed but more technical than a R13. But no doubt I prefer the R16. So this board a really close in size, must be perfect also for the iSonic 145. All the best

Thank you REMI for reply. About R16 you're testing, which Rake and Stiffness ? About new 2008 iSonics, what about 144 model ? ...I have seen from a promotional image immediately retired from Free Forum (posted on Futura Thread), that 2008 models will be slightly larger than previous ones... Might you so kind to reveal measures and feelings about new iSonics ? Cheers. - Exp. |
