the stock fin on my e80 has already got a small fracture in it..its an awesome fin but too fragile for my tastes... is this fin made in a more durable g-10 material?
thanks |

If your board is a 06 or newer, the fin is made out of G10. It is rather thin though, so close to the tip it is still not super strong. G10 fins have to be made thinner to flex since the material (just packed glass fiber and epoxy) is so stiff. But compared to thicker but less dense "normal" fin material the G10 Naturals still hold up better.
I regularly sail stone beach breaks and hit lots of stuff. I repair small fractures with fibreglass-epoxy filler. |

hi Ola,
As it turns out the fracture ended up breaking off...so now the distal, posterior tip of the fin (about 1/2-->2/3 of and inch of the posterior portion of the tip) is broken off.. If I sail it like this will there be a noticable loss of performance in your opinion? |

I would round it off a bit and sail on. The fin will still perform OK.
