Default Acid's fin box

Hi
I am the happy owner of an 2002 Acid 77. At one session I landed the board on it's fin on almost dry sand, which resulted in hairline cracks outlining the fin box. Around the hairlines I sanded away the top layer to check the damage. To my suprise I found quite "large" holes just under the surface, maybe 0.5 cm^3, just outside the fin box area, which have clearly always been there and did not result from crashing the board on the sand. I filled up the holes with epoxy and the board is now probably stronger than ever. My question is if these holes are normal or is this poor construction just the case for my board?
