isonic 96 vs isonic 101

Im 70 kg and the wind range is around 15 to 25 knots here. What do u guys suggest me to buy 96 or 101? that would be used mainly in all conditions but at the same time would go really fast.

Hi Mert
Looking at your weight, I'd look at the 96 as the 101 might start to feel biggish in 25k winds. For 15k to 25k & if your not slalom racing, I'd even consider an iS86.

ill be slalom racing and looking for the best board 2007-94 is also one of the choices so what is ur last suggestion?

Hi Mert, hi Mark

As I have the same weight and am close to get a new SB need some little advise the same as Mert but the difference is that we have winds up to 20 knots max and want to go fast, have no technique issues and should be used in all wind conditions and 30 centimeters lake chop max.
Which iSonic should be for my conditions, the 96 or the 111

I think it would be better if u go with 101!

Only you can answer your question with the info provided. Obviously the width is the critical factor.
iSonic 96 = W59
iSonic 101 = W64

The 101 will be better for 15 to 18 knots. The 96 will be better for 19 to 25 knots.

If your primary use is the lower end of your range, then go for the 101.
If your primary use is the higher end of your range over 17/18 knots then go for the 96.

Personally, I would buy the 101 then get a cheap waveboard for high winds. Don't forget that 1 knot is a LOT of wind. When you are talking about 20 knots, I think you would have much more fun on a waveboard unless you have very clean slalom water conditions.

But I am not sure if you are talking about TRUE wind strengths or just the FALSE wind strengths of the tossas on the beach.

BTW a board with width of 64cm will be CRAP in 19 knots unless you sail on a flatwater lake with protected water.

My answer to your question is ....

Go for the 96 which will be ideal for 16 to 22 knots.

Thanks a lot for your advise. As posted below, i sail in a lake with 30 centimeters chop max at 20 knots of wind max, still advised the is96?
The wind is checked at the shore with a wind gauge with it sensor at the top of a windsurfing mast.
