Default Do 2009 isonics require smaller fins than 2008?

I would like to know if I should take smaller fins for 2009 isonic in comparison to 2008 models?

There are wingers now, and tails are narrower (1-2cm)...Can we assume that ideal fins are now 1-2cm smaller then on 2008 isonics?

Thanks

Marko,

from 2007 to the 2008 Isonic I was already using smaller fin.

2007 Isonic I was using 34cm fin.

2008 Isonic I was using 31/32 cm fin.

I gues as for 2009 I would keep using the 31 / 32 cm fins..

Hello,

Correct me if I'm wrong Taty but from 2007 to 2008 the fins i.e for Is 101 which I own from 34 & 40 changed to 36 & 42.

Cheers

An interesting aspect here is that due to the rules of PWA slalom 42 racing, the pros are still racing on 08 boards. But 09 boards have of course gone through some rigourous testing and it is safe to assume that the fin(s) provided with the reflect the "best size in mean". But afaik, the fins have changed a bit between the years so a bigger oem size will not necessarily mean the board in question require a bigger fin in a given set of conditions.

Many of the pros also use fins from other sponsors and they may work differently. Also rider style will vary. So in the end we will not really know if the pro racers will change their fin sizes until real racing on 2009 boards begin - or at least not until the 08 season ends and training on 09 boards start.

But Remi and other developers as well as the team racers like Taty will certainly be able to give a very educated guess.

Hi Ola,

You are right,

Later in the season we will be gving more information on fin sizes and other questions that you have on the Isonics.

As for SUPERIDIS:

On the Isonic 87 2007 I was using 34cm fin and when I started sailing on the Isonic 86 I was using smaller fins 31 and 32.

There was slightly difrent in these two boards and I pretty much liked the 86 more on jibing and control was slight better.

But as for now we will look into the 2009 range, I am excited to sail with them.
