Hi. I have a Go 170 (2007), is my first board, I learn with this board. Now, I'm using the straps in the most outboard position, riding well. I feel I need to improve my ride and use a better board (jibing, etc.).
I was told that Futura 144 could be a good choice, but it's a fragile board too. I use to sail in plane water, 11-15 knots. I'm 1,84 heigh, 80 kg. I have two sails, 6,5 and 8,0. What do you think? Is the Futura 144 a good choice for my intermediate/improving level or maybe a Go 144? Thanks |

Hi frico1,
If you are going to be keeping your GO 170 for lighter wind sailing/early planing, perhaps a smaller Futura 133 or better still a Futura 122 would complement your GO 170 better. Otherwise the Futura 144 would be a pretty good 1 board solution. The GO version of these sizes will be quite heavy by comparison, so the Futura (even if you need to put a nose protector on it at first, is probably the better way to go. Hope this helps, |
