Hello All,
I'm in the UK and am trying to get hold of a Starboard Compact DRAM. Does anyone have one or know where I might get one? Thanks, Nick |

Thanks for that Wildwind!
![]() Not sure Mr Kai will want to post to the UK from Maui though! I'm still keeping my eyes peeled. They seem to be quite rare. ![]() Cheers, Nick |

My favorite shop in Belgium surfingwijnegem (specialized in starboard-severne) has a new one still in the shop.
(You can mail the owner on surfingwijnegem@skynet.be and tell him that you heared from Herman that he has still a compact in the shop.) |

i did not look clue in to your location , yeah shipping would be a killer.
i could get you one here in Canada, never used but again shipping ugggh. they look like a great concept, and i recommended the board to a few locals, as an upgrade form old electric rcoks type boards and even thought of it myself but i already have a formula, s-type, evo kinetic old plastic tiga etc etc too much kit!! jeff @ wildwindsca@yahoo.com |

Thanks guys, you're very kind and most helpful!
![]() I'll see how I get on and whether I can locate one over here before going overseas. I'll certainly use your contacts if necessary, but may well e-mail to make sure I don't miss out on a bargain! I'll have to weigh up cost to buy and shipping before making a decision. I'm after a Compact as having been learning on a small Rio I feel I'm ready for something new that is easier to transport and store. Plus I like the look of them! Best wishes, Nick |

I don't think you want one. There is a reason it is not in the lineup anymore.
I have understood that it was mostly a design gimmic, but that it did not work particularly well. The short length means that it is hard to push over the planing threashold, and probably reguires some good pumping technique to get going. Meaning it is probably not a good next step after a Rio. Look for a Futura or Go instead. |

I would agree with PG, but i disagree the concept of an easily transportable board not taking off does not justily the board being bad. It kind of a reminds me of a mini formula...if i doint have a formula i would have snapped up the one i saw.

dear nick, I have a second hand compact in very good conditions on sale. It is a wood model I have used sometimes. It has two fins: Drake Race 480 and Drake Freeride 380. I have enjoyed it very much. It is a very fast board that brings deep emotions. I sell it for 650 euros (the original price is 1650 euros). You would have to pay the shiping from Spain to UK in case you are intersted. What do you think? kind regards. robert
