Hey guys,
I have a carve wood 111 from 2004 for freeride conditions and a Tabou wave 75 l for waves or hard freeride conditions. I'm very happy with the 111. My question is : could the 101 replace the 111 ? Here are my feelings. I have just tried a carve wood 101 from 2005( the owner wants to sell it to me). Planning is even faster than the 111, speed is better but I was disappointed when I jibed. It needs more pressure and finally is not as radical as the biggger board. It rides more like a freerace board than a freeride. Am I right ? Could you guide me in my choice. Thank you. G.D. |

Sails are 4.7 , 5.4 and 5.9 . I'm 72kg for 1.73m. My level is good(20 years of windsurfing).Mainly on choppy water.

My understanding is that the carve 101 is a sweet board and would work well with your sails, but could imaigine it getting somewhat nervous with your 4.7m. I would say you have already answered your question especially if you had a chance to sail the 101 already especially with your light weight and maximum sail of 5.9m.

The Carve series has changed a lot during the years. Some of the years it was quite manouver oriented, and some years it was almost a flat out slalom.
But I cannot comment particularly on 2004 or 2005. |
