Advice please!
I'm 90 kg, 40 yo, a slightly 'iffy' back after skiing accident. Biggest sail i use is a 9.8 RS6 on a Formula 160 for early planing. Challenge is to find the combination of equippment that maximises max amount of low wind planing given i have a busy job and time on the water is precious. Options for next year. 160 plus RS6 9.8 versus iSonic 133 & NP RS Slalom 9.0 or 9.8. I already have an Isonic 115 & RSS 6.7s & 7.8, love the combination. RSS probably much lighter in hands than RS6, also better bottom end? Which will get me planing more often? Thanks Justin |

Hi Justin,
The F160 will definitely get you planing more often than the iS133 in any sort of marginal slalom (less than iS115) conditions, that part is pretty clear. Depending on the type of sailing (beam reach blasting/drag racing etc vs FW upwind/downwind extreme etc etc) you are doing, the iS133 may be a faster (and/or better / easier ) choice once you are planing, but if it's pure planing potential you want/need, the F160 will be hard to beat - except with Apollo ![]() Cheers ~ Ian |
