Floyd, I don't know the answer, but here are two links to people who do know.

The international GPS Speedsurfing organization has several forums at:
http://www.gps-speedsurfing.com/default.aspx?mnu=forum

The Midwest Speedquest forum is at:
http://www.themidwestspeedquest.com/forum/
That one isn't used often, but I believe it is checked by Craig Bergh, who runs Midwest Speedquest. He's always been very helpful to me and I'm sure he'd be happy to answer your question.

Not really more complex, just different and does many more things so there is bound to be a learning curve. Hang in there, it will all get easy with familiarity.

To clear the Genie and the internal memory (.sbp files) go to the MISC section and go to DELETE. Hit that and select to choice DELETE ALL. This clears everything ready for you next session. Just make sure you have saved it all to your card first: Go to MISC / SAVE TO CARD / SAVE ALL.

Much quicker and easier than deleting or saving each type of file separately! :-)
