Hi, I'm 80Kg surfers and I 'm learning to surf front side. I'm looking for a new wave board to complement my 95L freewave. I have the opportunity to buy a second hand Evo xtv 80 (2008) or a ET 74 (2009) or a cheap EVO 74 (2006). This last I read that probably is to small for my weight if the wind isn't constant so which board size is better to use with bumb and jump or on-shore condition with 5.0 or 4.5 sails size 25 or more knots)?
thank you in advance Cris |

A question first, have you sailed sub 80 liter boards before?

Yes, I had e bic saxo 253 73L and now I have a AHD Power Wave 253 74L 2001. With the AHD I need a lot of wind to start planning even with 4.5 windy condition.
Thanks |

Hmm, that AHD would be a bit narrower than the 56cm of the ET74, right? I figure the ET74 isn't really THAT power hungry. I believe its a few liters more than 74 and (as a lightweight) I always felt it was a board that would feel great to a heavier person. My friend that bought my ET74 is 83 and is super happy with the light wind performance of the 76 and will not grab his Kode 86 until onshore 5.8.
The EVO 80 is an awesome board, but it is clearly a size up and will start to get hectic with a 4.5, particularly when learning to wave ride. SO since you already have a bigger board as a complement, I think you should go for the ET76. |

Thanks Ola! Yes AHD is narrower, 53 cm, so I will got a 74L. I hope the ET if is in my budget if not the older EVO.
Many thanks Cris74 |
