Hi,
Just bought I-sonic 122 .I weight 70 kgs and use 7.5 sail.I would like to know which fin is most suitable. The board came with a 40 and 46 fin.I wonder if 48 would be more suitable. Can you give more advice regarding the prons and cons of the above fins? Thanks a lot carolos |

Hi Carolos,
out of my view a 44 or perhaps a powerful 42 work at its best in this board. I tested a lot with a 48, but used it just with my biggest sailsize a 9,0 (8,8) and in sweet water conditions. 90 % of the time I used a 44. Have fun, Chris

I have also been very successful with a 44 Canefire from Vector Fins and a 46cm D2 from F4 fins,

Carolos,
A lot depends on how you are going to use the board. If you do a lot of slalom racing, then fins on the smaller side may be better (40). If you are free sailing, you may like a larger fin to work upwind (46). If you are used to formula sailing with 70 cm fins, then you probably would like a larger fin since you can manage the necessary leverage needed with a big fin. a 48 seems too large for your 70kg weight. I think Chirs and nonopr both make the correct recommendation - 44cm. I have the iS 111, which came with 38 and 44 cm fins. I bought a tectonics tomcat 42 which I use for freesailing and it works great. I only use the 38 if speed sailing or downwind slalom. The 44 is no better than my 42 (which is more powerful).
