Hi,
I just bought a Starboard Rio M 195 and I don't know what sail I should use. I am 1.95 meters and 100 kilo. Should I take 5m2, 6m2, 7m2, 8m2, 9m2 With or without cams? I don't want to sail only with strong winds. I have not surfed for 15 years and want to start again. |

i also am 100 kilos
on my older longboard my biggest sail was 7.0 i never tried a RIO, but i imagine it can rock/plane well once on a bigger short board for my weight in lighter winds i went with an 8.5 non-cambered sail - this was the biggest no cam sail from my preferred sail company MS - there are others that make a 9.0 no cam like SW retro. i have even tried an 11.0, but that is heavy 8.5 is great in 20-40 kph winds and i am actually buying a 10.0 people use this up to 20 knots on formula boards it is NOT like 15 years ago so, depends on your budget and strength tough guy with patience - go for 8.5 to 9.0 (cam or no cam is your choice) really out of practice and less patience - want to lend it, etc - go for 7.0 or 7.5
