Hi all,
I might go to Vancouver after summer for university and I'm wondering what it's like for windsurfing... I'm not picky, coming from Hong Kong where I get a decent sail about once a fortnight... Has anyone sailed in Vancouver/ know of windsurfing in Vancouver? Any information would be appreciated. Cheers.

Lucky dude, dont know about WS, but with Whistler bike park only 45 minutes away, you'll have plenty to do on no wind days.

Nice. I used to do a lot of BMXing before focusing on windsurfing, so that could be a plus.

Check out the below discussion forum for Vancouver windsurfers:
http://thewindsurfer.com/?q=node/113 Note on the sidebar "sites" for various windsurfing locations. There can be year round sailing, though some times are much better than others. |

Thanks for the replies.
I just noticed that Columbia River Gorge is within a days drive away. That place looks mental!

You should also check out Squamish, on the way up to Whistler from Vancouver and Nitinat Lake, on Vancouver Island. Both have good summer thermal winds.
