Hi,
Can I have advice on replacing a Carve 151 , and a 105 HS with a Futura 133? Sails: 8.5 m and 7m. Me, 65kg. I am anticipating that the Futura would : go faster than the C151 get planing just as early, with a 52cm fin and a bit of pumping be more user friendly than the HS105, especially in the corners be as fast as the HS 105 Am I wrong? I'm responding because I'm curious about what more experienced sailors will answer. My uneducated guess is the HS 105 would still have faster straight line speed, but I don't have the technical precision required to do well riding the HS 105 so the Futura 133 would be faster overall for me.
Usually one new board is not enough of a replacement for the range covered by two older boards. My suggestion is to have a phased solution by first replacing the board which is least satisfying while planning to replace the other board later. |

May also be worth considering keeping the HS and selling just the C151 and replacing it with a F141. F141 would definetly be faster than C151, and better gybing etc. The HS are being sold for about £150, so not a lot, for that type of re-sale value its worth keeping. Never tried a HS back to back with a F133, but I'm pretty sure the HS would faster in a straight line most conditions because the HS can use smaller fins than the F133.
