I noticed that a lot of Pros use wave harness instead of seat during slalom events. Why?
Better control? More leg power? Maybe waist for strong and seat for ligth winds? Cheers, Andreas |

In light winds pros still use seat harness but for high winds, they prefer waist harness. Waist harness allows better contol in the high winds. I guess in moderate winds it's a toss up. They claim no loss of speed in using the waist harness. Check the mauisails forum, there was a thread on this on that forum. SIN 909

Might as well check the DVD 'Faster', which gives insight at speed problems like these (some people don't realise that speed is needed for everything, this is certainly not a speedsurfer-only DVD!!!). Some pro's prefer, as Guest #2 said already, a waist harness when the weather gets rough. But if you only have one harness, or feel great in a waist / seat harness, I don't think you have disadvantages when sailing with only one harness at all times...
