Hello surfers!
I´m interested to enlarge the range of my IS 111. I combine the IS 111 with CR 7,0 and CD 8,1. Is it wise to buy a smaller race sail (for example 6,2) to use IS 111 in conditions up to 30 kn. My bodyweight is 92 kg. Thanks for your advises. Walter |

Walter,
Are you racing or just freeriding? If racing, the 111 is a bit large for winds over 25 knots, even for a 92kg sailor. A smaller iSonic would probably suit you better in winds from 25 to 30 knots. What is your next smaller board and do you have other sails below the 7.0? Maybe another sailor at your weight with a 111 will jump in and give you some better advice. If freeriding, I think you would do OK with a 6.2, but the 111 is a rough ride in heavy chop. For freeriding, I have a iS 111 and use a 6.6 on it in winds around 18-22 knots and it works great, but if the wind goes much over 20 knots, then I go down to a 6.0 sail and a 105 liter bump and jump board, which has a much smoother ride in rough water. If you don't have any sails smaller than a 7.0, the 6.2 would be good to add to your quiver, even if you don't us it much with the 111. Eventually you likely go to a smaller board, and then the 6.2 should fit in very well.

Hi Walter 1212,
It's works with 6.2 but is definitelly not the right combo for racing, I will chose at this time the 87 with 6.2. The 111 is to big in chop for that sail as said Ken. In super flat water, I think you can enjoy with it. By the way the other sails will be perfect. Hop this help All the best

Regarding the remarks I think about buying a smaller ISonic. Would you prefer the IS86 or the IS 94 of 2009/2010. I´m a advanced surfer with racing ambitions.

Hi Walter,
At this time it will be good to take the iSonic 94 2010 and your 6.2 & 7 will work perfectly on it and will be perfect board to go with your 111. All the best
